I love to bike but agree the two are not compatible. Let horses have a safe and fun trail, shared with hikers.

We are limited to the riding area's we have. Pawnee Prairie is one the nicest and safest places for us to ride. Walkers and horse back riders respect each other and give way. I fear the bicyclists will take over the trails. The cyclists have so many places to ride. They can ride the streets of Wichita Maize and other local cities. If I would ride my horse to the closest Quick Trip in town the cyclists do, I would be in trouble. Respect our area and let us ride. Thanks Edwina

I lived at The Park for 20 years on Glacier Ct. I am currently residing in the country & enjoy taking my horses to places such as PPP. Horsemen have few such places to ride their horses. Bikes & horses do not mix. The original purpose of PPP was for hiking & equine use. Our job is to honor the memory of those who designated the trails for horses, walking, & hiking.

This is the ONLY park in Wichita for horses. Allowing bicycles poses a danger for both the riders and the cyclists, though bikes have many more places to ride than do the horse owners. Please uphold the exclusion of bicycles at Pawnee Prairie Park.

It would be a shame for horsemen not to be able to ride the trails as they are now. Lot's of country horses are not used to bicycles & might spook. These trails are great for a good safe ride not to far a distance to travel to.

Everyone deserves the experience a beautiful day on the back of a horse. Be it new or old riders a like. I believe this trail is one of kind and should remain open for all to enjoy.

There are LOTS of existing bike lanes, bike parks, bike everything. This park has been in existence for HORSES for 50+ years. The commissioner requesting this can go use the current bike paths. There is NO other place close that is safe for trail riding. Closest is Kannapolis. That's not fair to those horse riders that pay taxes too.

I am not a horse person, but I know Pawnee Prairie, well. To allow cyclists to use the same area as equestrians will only invite danger. Even the best trained horses spook.

Please keep this park as a horse only park which is the way it was donated and intended to stay by the original land owner. Not only is it the right thing to do but the safe thing to do.

Please leave the park alone. I believe 1 million for this suppose park is crazy. Use that money for purchasing the house the Veterans need.
