Pawnee Prairie has always been a beautiful getaway in the middle of Wichita to take our horses to. These places are few and far between. Don't take one of the few places we have left.

Please leave these trails open to horses. It is a good thing for everyone

It is selfish of bikers to think they need this park to ride in. Aside from private property, bicycles can be ridden anywhere. Not horses. This park should be grandfathered for the EXCLUSIVE use of equestrians and hikers.

An oasis for horse loving friends to come together and enjoy Quality Time in a Wichita Park. It is always an adventure and a priceless gem, appreciated by MANY Wichitans, and a draw for oo town friends to join us and shop Wichita!

Wichita has One official dog only park Meridian Dog Park, they have one official extreme biking park, Air Capitol park, they need one official horse park, Pawnee Prairie. There are many places to ride bicycles in Wichita. I was raised in Wichita and had no problem riding my bike anywhere, to the store to the swimming pool to the parks, at the parks. I rode my bike everywhere from the time I was 8 until we moved when I was 13. But, PPP is the only place to ride a horse. New York City has three separate parks designated for horse usage, surely Wichita Kansas could designate one.

Please do not prohibit horses at Pawnee Prairie Park. Bikers and walkers have opportunities to recreate in numerous locations. Equestrians are very limited. Thank you.

Leave ppp alone. Buy the land to the south and build what you want.

Keep this place for horses. There are hundreds and hundreds of miles of bike trails already. People travel and bring their horses to places like this because they are all being slowly taken over and it is not fair to the horse community.

I grew up trail riding this place and many others with the SCKTRA. It would be a huge mistake to bring in the bike riders. Just not a good combo. I train horses and it's one thing to get a horse used to bikes but nothing is gonna prevent a horse being startled if one comes zipping around the corner suddenly. Not just a risk to the rider but also a huge risk to the biker. Horses have instincts to want to turn around and kick. And I have been kicked myself. Thank goodness to the St Fransis hospital's emergency team I am still alive.

Horse Trails are very very limited when compared to walking or biking areas.

Do not change the park, it is so dangerous for the people and the horses for bikes to be in the park.. Horses don't understand what a bike is and are frightened by them and will act accordingly. Please don't let the bikes in this HORSE park. Thank you Karla Scribner

I am a resident of Wichita and own multiple properties in the city - this is the only equestrian park and it should stay that way - Preserve and Protect PPP!!

Irene Plumlee was my First grade teacher. I distinctly remember her love of horses, and in fact we took a field trip and walked to her house to see her horses. While that was a very long time ago, it is a reminder that her passion touched many lives. Her mission of providing a safe place for horse riders at all levels should not be compromised. Sometimes I long for the days when things were simpler and you didn't have to sign a petition for things that really involve simple logic. Bikes and horses cannot co-exist and create a safe riding place on narrow, winding riding trails where horses won't be spooked, putting their riders in harm's way. Mrs Plumlee would be disappointed, but like you, she would never have given up! May common sense prevail!

I have enjoyed riding horses at PPP for a long time. Please continue to keep it for horses and hikers. I would be too nervous to ride there if I knew bycycles were going to come around the corner at anytime. I have experined it in the past and its scary when your on horseback.

We ride out at Pawnee Prairie on a regular basis. Please leave it open to horse only no bikes. The bicyclist are quiet and spook the horses we want a safe place to ride. There are several bicycle parks that they can go to. We only have this one safe place to ride. It is bad enough that we have to deal with dogs off the leash. Thank you

Keep Pawnee Prairie a riding area for horses as it was designed to be!
