I am firmly against any changing of the zoning laws. Ridgewood is a village, not a city. By adding large scale apartment buildings and congesting our town and schools further, you will be losing potential families from choosing ridgewood to move to. More importantly, you will build a resentment among the current residents, and lose the essence of what Ridgewood is all about!

The charm of Ridgewood is what is attractive to many people. We cannot afford to lose the uniqueness of our village.

There are other uses for that space that would benefit the town as a whole, e.g. parking. Our downtown has been dying for quite some time. And the schools will not be able to handle the influx of new students.Ridgewood, NJ

Ridgewood is a great town that needs proper long term planning. This feels reactionary and not forward thinking. Who really benefits from all of this? Certainly not the average citizen.

Although there are many concerns with the proposed development, I must highlight the danger of increasing the traffic in Ridgewood. Within the past few years, 2 different women who are very close to our family have been hit by cars while crossing the street in a crosswalk. One friend nearly lost her life and the other was hurt terribly. Our streets cannot safely handle any more traffic.

I am a teacher in Ridgewood and have been a resident almost my entire life. Our class sizes are maxed out as it is, and teachers don't even have the funds to buy simple supplies like tape. How are we going to support up to 400 new families? Build another school? Our schools can't handle this many new families.

In the long run, more residential housing is net tax negative. I oppose more residential building. It will increase everyone's taxes. If the masterplan is to be updated, parcels in question should be zoned for recreational commercial use. Public amenities such as parks, indoor pools, ice rinks, roller rinks, theatre, movies, should be of the highest priority.

Compounding the conjestion problem poses additional danger for pedstrians and cyclists. The wrong place to create demand where there currently isn't (see apartment for rent signs), and is not consistent with Ridgewood life as it should be. Let's keep Ridgewood safer and the ideal place to enjoy raising a family, or we lose.

Apartment towers in Ridgewood would compromise the integrity of the town. It would ultimately transform Ridgewood from a quiet, pretty village to an extended city sprawl. Don't allow hundreds of residential units to be built in 07450.
