Please sign this petition to tell Oakland City Council how important it is to preserve the ongoing music (including live bands) and dance programs for the Ballroom, West Coast Swing, Lindy, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Square Dance, Country Dance, and other communities, some of which have been there for 19 years.

We are asking City Council to write a resolution that shows these programs are important to Oakland and to those who love our music and dance heritages. Please sign this petition and share with your friends if you think the City Council and Mayor should preserve these existing programs long term as a gem of Oakland. This petition will go to City Council and Mayor to show there is community support.

We are already in the process of negotiating with the City Administration, but existing resolutions don’t cover this circumstance at this building, so the programs are always vulnerable to being cancelled with 90 days notice. We want to change this so we can do long term planning.
