The homosexual community is seeking to change the policy of the Boy Scouts of America which currently excludes membership to individuals who are open or avowed homosexuals. It was in 2000 that the U.S. Supreme Court concluded that the organization is private, and it is allowed to bar homosexuals from being troop leaders. Please sign this petition to keep the current policy which is: "While the BSA does not proactively inquire about the sexual orientation of employees, volunteers, or members, we do not grant membership to individuals who are open or avowed homosexuals or who engage in behavior that would become a distraction to the mission of the BSA."

Updates

The feedback I have received reflects a deep interest in maintaining the traditional character and mission of this organization. I am currently reaching out to leadership to ensure these perspectives are clearly represented during upcoming discussions.

The momentum behind this effort has grown to a level that clearly reflects a strong commitment to maintaining our tradition. It is encouraging to see so many people choose to uphold the values that have defined this organization for decades.

Keep the scouts the way they have always been. Why is everyone trying to change everything these days?

Tradition matters. Its a private organization and they have every right to set their own standards for leadership. LEAVE IT ALONE.
