This a bad idea. Where is the environment impact study? A small lake like Big Wood Lake can not support the doubling plus of lake users.
The damage done to the lake is not repairable and would be the legacy of city and county supervisors.

I am a concerned owner of a cabin on Big Wood Lake. I have owned my property for over 21 years. I, like many others, am very proud of our lake which is known for its clean water without any invasive species. Our shoreline is beautiful as the owners are very careful to not disturb the natural shoreline of the lake. Big Wood Lake is not considered a large lake, and I am concerned and object to the development of a commercial resort and RV Park on the lake. The impact on the lake and our wetlands will be devastating with this addition. The population will more than double around the lake, which means more boats and traffic using the lake and surrounding roads and property. Being most of these people will only be there for short periods of time, they will not have the same concern for our lake as the current property owners. The damage to our wildlife and our fishing will be disastrous, and it will change our lake and our property values. Please do not allow this to happen to our lake. Thank you.

My brother & his family have a lake cabin right across from the camp. They spend a lot of relaxing quiet time there with family & friends. It is a safe quiet place, and we would like it to remain that way.

My family has owned property on Wood Lake for close to 100 years. My husband and I bought our own cabin 10 years ago because we love it so much. We live there in the summer and swim and fish and boat almost daily during those months. We have our family reunion and family triathlon there every summer. I am concerned that a commercial RV park that could effectively double the population accessing the lake is not consistent with the 20 year land use plan for Burnett County and will fundamentally alter the peaceful atmosphere that our family has loved for generations.

My family and I live on Big Wood Lake on the North Shore. It is a beautiful lake, quiet, and not overpopulated. I am fearful this development will have irreversible everlasting effects on the composition of the lake, surrounding wetlands, and environment as a whole. I also have fears about safety in regards to this development as it will increase the population, boat traffic, risk of invasive species as well as introduction of human waste, garbage, ect.
We need a thorough study and assessment performed to understand the potential risks before allowing any development of this size to move forward.

At 234 acres, the size of this development is disproportionate to the size of Big Wood Lake (521 acres). We need to clearly understand the scope of this development project and its potential impact before allowing any work to start.

I grew up on Wood Lake where my grandparents and parents owned a year round home on Assembly Drive since the 1950's. I purchased my seasonal cabin/property largely because of the small lake atmosphere, with only 163 cabins and the safety for my family and friends on the lake. I am in total disagreement of adding additional cabins to the existing property or adding an RV Park with 90+ units. This will cause more noise on the south end of the lake, the boat landings will be overused and the roads surrounding the lake would be impacted negatively. Please stop the conditional user permits or changes in zoning to help us preserve the lake life as we know it today.

I grew up in Grantsburg and my grandparents lived on Wood Lake. My brother and cousin currently have cabins on the lake. There is no need to destroy the lake with the addition of an RV park..NO PARK!
