Developers outside of Medford don’t care about the character of our town. A wise zoning development plan is needed that prevents destruction of important houses to make ugly multi family boxes.

Please consider these kinds of irreversible decisions carefully and not undermine Medford's architectural and historic heritage. Thank you!!

Preservation creates a unique community of historic value. The cheap "luxury" builds are destroying the character of this historic town.

The Historic District Commission and City Council is working to create a "South Street Historic District" to protect many pre-civil war properties in the neighborhood. The property at 16 Manning St contributes to the South Street neighborhood that is currently undergoing a transformation, and I feel this house meets all the criteria to be designated as preferably preserved.

Who would tear down a perfectly good home like that? It reeks of profiteering. M. MacElhiney 48 South Street

I have no doubt that this house is far more beautiful and interesting than any house that would get built in it's place. The developers don't care about the esthetics just about making money!!!

Medford should work harder at preserving historical homes and history

Historic architecture continues to be eradicated to create Somerivlle and East Boston density. It is the end of centuries old Medford story telling to make a few more bucks.

This kind of destruction is the beginning of the end of what made Medford the historical gem. Developers have no connection to this place.

We need to maintain our cultural and architectural heritage in Medford. As a longtime Medford resident and taxpayer, I strongly believe the house at 16 Manning St should not be demolished.
