Preserve 16 Manning Street!

To the Medford Historical Commission:
The house at 16 Manning street should be preserved!
Built in about 1870, it is one of the oldest houses on the street. It retains its basic shape and size and fits well into the streetscape. It sits on a foundation in good condition made of bricks, which were very likely made in one of the close by Medford brickyards. The house as a whole is very well maintained.
The house at 16 Manning together with the other houses on Manning and Touro streets was found to be eligible for a National Register Historic District as indicated on the MHC Area Form entitled Touro-Manning Area. This supports its historic importance not only in terms of the surrounding neighborhood, but also the city as a whole.
Given its age, how well it fits into the streetscape, its condition, and its importance in the history of the neighborhood and the city, this house should not be demolished!
As residents of the city of Medford, we ask you to find 16 Manning preferably preserved.
