There is currently an item before the June meeting of Council to set an annual 'Prefix Maintenance Charge' of 15+ VAT per year. This is tantamount to a breach of contract between the GCCF and those prefix holders who have paid a prefix fee in good faith that the prefix was granted for life. The intended maintenance charge could have the opposite effect as the GCCF will have outpriced themselves in relation to the other bodies in the UK. TICA charge a one-off lifetime fee of £50. This may be a deciding factor for many about where they register their prefix and could, in fact, lead to a reduction of prefix applications with the GCCF and a loss of revenue rather than an increase. This information has not been available from the GCCF as the Finance Committee papers are only available to delegates and the timing of this item to meet the June agenda precludes any discussion at club or committee level. The GCCF's comment when asked was : 'Any price increases will be decided on by delegates at the Council meeting on 24th June.' In other words we will be told after the fact with little or no opportunity to make our feelings known
