On Thursday May 24th 2007, it was confirmed that Nashville Predators owner Craig Leipold had an agreement in place to sell the Predators to Canadian business man, co-CEO of RIM, and Waterloo, Ontario, Canada\'s own, Jim Balsillie. After years upon years of losing millions and millions of dollars in a poor hockey market such as Nashville, Mr. Leipold gave up. Though he shares an intense love of hockey with his family it just wasn\'t justifiable for him to put a great amount of passion and money into the team anymore because clearly the residents of Nashville didn\'t care. Mr. Balsillie, a native of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, has shown that he is a great business man. Taking RIM to the top of the communications industry. And with a strong love for hockey he has the know how and a direction for the Predators. The residents of Kitchener-Waterloo have signed this petition to show Mr. Balsillie, and the Commissioner of the NHL, Mr. Gary Bettman, that they, unlike the so called fans in Nashville would support the Predators. Kitchener-Waterloo is a booming market that in past years have seen business ventures and population errupt. And with surrounding areas no more than 45 minutes away like Cambridge, Guelph, Hamilton, Brantford, Mississauga, and Milton, the total population is upwards of 2 million people. So Mr. Balsillie and Mr. Bettman after reviewing the signatures and comments on this petition, I would ask you to strongly consider the relocation of the Nashville Predators to Kitchener-Waterloo. A booming metropolis that loves it\'s hockey and would undoubtedly love it\'s Predators. Sincerely, Ken Beckett Founder Of \"The Preds To K-W\" Campaign
