Stay at home; test; quarantine positives; trace contacts. Only release when you're satisfied the system works and the level of infection is very small.
It sounds draconian. But it will almost certainly do the job, and, if followed correctly, will unlock the economy much more quickly than the current lazily thought through measures, which are very likely to lead to a second peak, and possibly a third.
With Spanish Flu, the second and third peaks were much more deadly than the first peak.

The aim should be suppression and elimination of the virus, anything less is not acceptable to me. It can be done, we need political will and strong, compassionate leadership. Just look to NZ for a brilliant example.

While other countries restart their economies, having surpassed the virus, we will have the most deaths and worst economic outcome. This will go on for months if we don't tackle it. Even if herd immunity is possible it won't work because not enough people are going to be willing to be infected. Only those who have no choice but to go to work are going to be affected and this is grossly unfair.

Reshaping the economy and society to protect people and communities should be the priority, not business as usual based on seeing mass deaths as a price worth paying.
