If the University has no scruples about awarding the Laetare Medal to an unqualified recipient because it somehow adds to the "prestige" of the Notre Dame, perhaps it should also consider the possibility of selling Laetare medals at the Notre Dame bookstore and at least try to monetize the concept.

It is time for Catholics to stand up and demand "Catholic" schools, universities and parishes be Catholic. It is a disgrace that a once prestigious Catholic institution praise a politician who supports such abominations against God instead of admonishing him for the sake of his salvation. The goal of the Catholic Church, and its institutions, is to lead men to God, not to praise them when they blatantly offend Him. This is a scandal and undermines the teachings of the Church.

Thank God that students have common sense as evidenced with the medal followed by Dempsey with the commencement address

I am again ashamed of Notre Dame. How insulting to all of us who love Notre Dame and expect a CATHOLIC institution.

It is a black shameful mark on the legacy of Notre Dame, that she has a president who is more in tune with the Rockefeller Foundation than he is with Christian Values he has turned away from, and who supports an American president who denigrates America, denigrates her values, and promotes and subsidizes the death of more that 3000 unborn human lives per day. Jenkins is an abomination and unfit to be a priest never mind the president of Notre Dame.

This is a Catholic School! It needs to do some serious deletion of anti-Catholics and liberals. Why are they even hired??

As snow in summer and rain at harvest, so is honor not fitting for a fool. Proverbs 29:1. I pray that the motion to honor the fool will be reconsidered.

Joe Biden's open support of abortion is a scandal. Praying that both he and Notre Dame will one day fully embrace and defend the Catholic Faith they profess.
