God, this Mother's Day and always, remember the orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa, who have lost their parents to the AIDS epidemic, or whose parents are so poor, they need to leave them to fend for themselves while they look for work in the cities. These children are alone, scared, and in pain. They are malnourished - surviving by eating lizards and rats - suffering from scabies and ring worm and scurvy. Please show your Great Mercy to these children. Provide them with food and adequate shelter! If their parents are alive, help them earn a living in their own village, so that their children aren't left alone to fend for themselves. If their parents are no longer alive, bring them comfort and support and love! Be with them constantly! Feed them! Protect them from physical and emotional harm! Help them to grow and learn! Amen.
