The US could be entirely powered by using it's geothermal energy from existing hot spots on the West Coast and some on the East Coast.

Iceland for example is using it's hot spots and is powered exclusively by geothermal energy.
Studies suggest that the US has enough geothermal hot spots to power the entire country.
The benefits of using geothermal energy is that it's a clean energy source that there are no CO2 emissions which are allegedly causing climate change and other destructive developments on planet earth. (Gas, Coal, Oil, Uranium are currently the main power sources and not sustainable).
The US is one of the biggest polluters on Earth. Changing the production of energy to sustainable sources would decrease the world pollution considerably.
