Powder Springs Transparent Leadership
To date, the city of Powder Springs employs one African-American police officer, one female police officer, and no Hispanic or Native American officers on its 40-member police department. I believe the city would benefit if the police force more closely reflected the diversity found in our communities. I also believe that we should be more transparent about our strategy for diversity
Secondly, at least a dozen homeowners from various subdivisions in Powder Springs have expressed their concern to City Council about a new city requirement to clean detention ponds in their neighborhood. Some clean up projects required by the city would be as expensive as $13,000. The council should be more transparent about the fees and allow residents to find a better deal. That is leadership and transparency.
Lastly, I advocate for the residents of Silver Springs Village, who are forced to live with an eye sore of an unfinished, multi-year development project, which they never wanted and was vetoed by the Zoning Board, yet approved by City Council under the heavy hand of the mayor.
Sign this petition if you think support more transparency regarding the detention pond clean up or solutions to lower the cost and preventing unfinished developments in any subdivision in our city in the future.
I believe Powder Springs deserves a mayor, who is open and forward-thinking to rekindle the city’s passion for growth and who serves our people with integrity and interest in their ideas.
