Poverty in Kibera is a serious issue because there are so many things that can happen to the people, but they have nothing to do about it.

There are about 1.2 million people living in Kibera right now and many can barely support themselves, let alone their families with the kind of money they earn. There is barely any safe water for the people to drink or proper health care even though different organizations are trying to help them. Kibera is very overcrowded and the houses that people live in are about 12ft x 12ft which houses about 5 or more people. There are poor living conditions with garbage and sewage nearly everywhere in Kibera which causes poor hygiene. A lot of the people are unemployed and have to do other things in order to survive. There are a lot of unwanted pregnancies between the ages of 16 - 25 and a lot of women have multiple children, but the father(s) have left the mother to feed the children.

I will send a proposal to the people who work at Carolina for Kibera and this petition will be in it. It will ask them if they could have recycle bins around Kibera so that a small part of the garbage that is in Kibera will be put in the bins. This will hopefully increase the amount of hygiene in Kibera and reduce the chances of people getting diseases. The garbage that gets collected can also be recycled and used for something else. If you agree with this it would be great if you could sign the petition because every signature will make this mean a lot more.

If you want to help the people in need then you can visit my GoFundMe page where all of the money that I collect will go to the Carolina for Kibera charities. You can also just go straight to the Carolina for Kibera page and donate. Any amount of money that is donated will help these causes.
