Pour un changement de gouvernance à Villa Maria / For a change of governance at Villa Maria

I’m in the French sector, sec 1. I’m pissed cuz I really wanted to continue my studies in music next year and they are not letting me! Also, my 2 favorite teachers are being fired for this stupid thing. And it’s not fair!

Really do not like the new governing body and board of directors since they took it uponnthemsleves to make so many changes with the school like admitting boys with no notice or discussion with parents, increasing tuition fees even though they are getting more kids enrolling and for the kack of transparency...tgey have been mis-honeat and I believe do not have the best interest of the school or the kids at heart...just want to simply make money. This idea that the classes will be increased to 38 per class when public school system has a maximum of only 32 cannot happen..if so they need to cut tuitions by half at the very least and prepare to lose students and the 165 year great reputation of this great school....Who are these people anyway? I would like to see them face to face and have a conversation and ask them directly what the heack do they think they are doing and who gave them them right to do whatever they want with consultation or discussion with parents and teachers?

My wife attended Villa and now my daughters too. I do find though that in the past two years things have changed in the school dynamic and my daughters often mention teachers leave or are replaced , the administrator is leaving, our music classes will be no more, emphasis on growing the number of students instead of quality , changing an all girls school has also changed Villa forever . Yes I am disappointed , and feel let down. I was sold a Villa that pits the interests of our daughters first and foremost. Villa may have à proven ability to adapt with its history to prove it! But we need transparency and demand change. I want my daughters to feel proud of Villa!!

My sister and I are both at villa. It has always been my dream school. My mother came here and always spoke about how amazing her experience was. When she found out that the school was going co Ed it brought tears to her eyes. Villa is not the same as it was even 4 years ago. As a student here I am speaking on behalf of everyone at Villa, WE NEED OUR VILLA BACK!! it breaks my heart to see the changes going on in the school without our opinion or being opened about their decisions. Most students would leave Villa at this point but we still have hope!! Miss Bachi better see this

Villa keeps adding rules, this is not the same villa that it used to be. Villa Maria is doing stuff withou the students consent

Nous sommes les parents de Marianne et Évelyne Pertuiset-Ferland, qui ont maintenant 25 ans. Ma tante, feue Mme Madeleine Brosseau a aussi été à Villa-Maria il y a sans doute 80 ans, et nous avons de magnifiques témoignages de cette grande institution. Il importe que ses grands piliers, dont son école de musique, soient préservés. Il ne faut pas que des considérations axées sur le profit et les querelles internes viennent menacer cette institution historique, et précieuse

C'est tres clair pour moi qu'il y a un gros probleme de communication et de transparence dans l'ecole. Ma fille change d'ecole en septembre mais j'aimerais tout de meme qu'il se passe quelque chose pour tous les etudiants qui restent a Villa. Ma fille m'a dit que Villa n'est plus Villa qu'elle aimait tant en secondaire 1. Elle sera en secondaire 4 en septembre.

I know a lot of people who are ready to leave Villa and this is part of their reason why

I love private music. If it leaves then I would probably leave the school.

Why are you making stupid decisions for us that nobody likes and you aren’t even asking us what we think.

Je suis profondément déçue de l'administration qui refuse d'entendre la frustration des élèves alors que ce sont eux qui construisent la réputation de cette école avec l'aide de leurs excellents professeurs.

Trop de personnes plus que compétentes ont déjà quitté Villa par sa faute...

I can't believe theyre shutting down the school. I'm in grade 1 and chose Villa Maria because of the music school.
