My parents have been waiting for this day as long as I have. A zoom call just isnt the same and we deserve a real ceremony even if it has to be delayed.

If a majority of the class agrees with this plan I think it is a reasonable request to make of administration.

The White Coat Ceremony is a major accomplishment and milestone that deserves being witnessed and celebrated in person.

As the first generation student, this moment means the world to me and my support system. I would love to be able to experience this with them in person.

The white coat ceremony is means much more to me than just a formality. I’ve dreamt of that day since the day I decided I wanted to become a doctor. As a first generation Latino student and an only child, I’ve dreamt of having my mom there with me that day, as a way to thank her for all the sacrifices she’s made for me succeed and follow my dreams. This ceremony is for her too. I never imagined this monumental day would take place with me, alone in my living room, without my classmates and my mom in another state. I’m willing to wait however many months it takes, even a year, to be able to share this experience with my mom and my peers.
