Postpone the Vote for the 2017 Capital Improvement Plan

We are in agreement that this vote should be postponed. In fact we don't need to go forward with the proposal as it eliminates the men's grill.

the entire goal of this ill conceived plan is to take over the men's grill. just take it over for free, and once the novelty wears off, we will have it back again- all at no cost to the members

I am very concerned the board has "moved the goalposts" from 60% to 50.1% in an effort to insure their plan passes. This occurs in the wake of significant pushback from members forcing the board to establish a minimum rate of 60% in the prior vote. I am also worried by the fact that the board chooses to ignore data from the survey that clearly indicates passage of this plan at the proposed price puts the Club at significant risk of more than anticipated attrition. Club management has indicated a greater than expected attrition rate puts Willow Oaks in financial peril and the board president has admitted there is no plan in the event the attrition is more than planned. The very fact the vote for the first proposal was the first assessment ever voted down by the membership and overwhelmingly so is in indication of the danger, and the second proposal coming so quickly and with so little discussion evidence that the board remains out of touch with the members they represent.

I am totally opposed to the new vote that has been forced upon the membership after the original proposal was RESOUNDINGLY DEFEATED. Taking a profit generating entity from Wocc to be replaced with another money losing dining option without proper vetting and arbitrary board efforts is essentially the definition of malfeasance

I think it is disgraceful that in this age of easy electronic communications and group blogging, that the Board has provided no way for members to voice their comments, ideas and concerns on the proposed plans (either the Savor 60 plan or this "new" one) with the entire membership, and that thoughtful ideas and concerns submitted to the Board by email have been brushed aside without any meaningful response or apparent consideration. The new plan seems to me to have many of the objectionable features of the old plan - it is simply smaller in scale. For example, I see no white tablecloths in the video; just very ugly plain, hard surfaces. Will these now be dispensed with in the Oak Grill? Do we want the WOCC dining experience to be the same as any other restaurant in the City? Whether correct or not, that is the impression that I have from the video and the information provided by the consultants who were at the Savor 60 meetings. I think a capital campaign to reinvigorate furnishings and much needed repairs would be great. This one seems to me to be largely a waste of money. Unfortunately, without a dialogue with the members, there is no way to express these thoughts or to hear what others might think.

It is very disturbing that the board has gone forward so quickly after defeat of the initial plan. A modest patio expansion would be nice. The current designs are not appealing.
