We, the engaged parents of Virginia, are petitioning the Virginia State legislature to change unnecessary and harmful assessments (SOLs) in our public schools. We see these tests as harmful, expensive, unfair and a waste of time and valuable resources. We know their are more meaningful ways to gauge an individual's learning progress. We would like to see the excellent education that our children have become accustomed to continue throughout the entire school year and at every grade level.
