Dear Swim Community, I am creating this petition in the hopes of improving the air quality at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center (AOSC). My daughter, who swims for Annapolis Swim Club, recently developed respiratory problems caused by the chlorine vapors that remain on the pools surface. If you have visited AOSC, you may have noticed the distinct smell of chlorine in the pool area. This is due to an inadequate ventilation system. It has come to my attention that the current ventilation system is not operating properly. Myself, as well as many of the Annapolis Swim Club parents, feel this may be putting our childrens health at risk. I would ask that you join me in asking Anne Arundel County to please push through the funding needed to replace or fix the current ventilation system. large renovation and replacing the current system will take some time, but I feel there are alternative remedies that can be put in place in the interum to improve the air quality at AOSC while the county executives work out the budget.
