How can you have a rec center without a pool? What next, parks without grass?

The pools you have are very out dated. This is supposed to be one of the best cities in America to live in and our rec centers are from the 1980s. Step up!

It would be nice to have a fun pool and not have to drive to Loveland or Greeley for the kids.

Why would you build a community center for the SE side and not include a water feature? How about City Council stops bending over the SE side and gives us what we ask for.

I am the head coach of a summer neighborhood swim team in SE Fort Collins (Willow Springs). I will go on record as saying if the City reinstates the lap pool at the rec center, I will coach a swim team at the facility. I will create, build and coach the program. Just as I did at Willow Springs where I now have over 50 swimmers who compete at a very high level at the state level and have a blast doing so. What a great experience it would be for the kids to have a pool and swim team in their neighborhood. A swim team will provide the kids with another outlet to stay out of trouble and enjoy the life long sport of swimming. I envision a program not as big or complex as FAST at EPIC but something similar to Miramont or Raintree. If the CIty is concerned about the lap pool not being used frequently, I can put that concern to rest right now- I could easily get 100 kids to participate on the team. I also imagine a swim team could help with fundraising efforts and some of the team's participation fees can go to directly to the CIty to help fund the project. It's a win-win all around. GO FUTURE SE FORT COLLINS SWIM TEAM!

I read the Coloradoan article about this change of plans and oppose building an endless pool to save space. I could not use that type of pool. We also don't need a community innovation center space. Greeley's Fun Plex serves lap swimmers, young children, and is an amazing facility. We need a major lap pool faciility and space for families and young children to play. We have to think far bigger than a $10 million facilitiy for an area of Fort Collins that is growing so rapidly with enough space to serve long term. This could be a signature facility focused on swimming and recreation. Don't make this a bone tossed to the Southeast Corner--make it a visionary show place for active people of all ages!

Please reinstate the pool back into the plans. As a regular swimmer I am unable to utilize the pools during peak hours because the lanes are occupied by school swim teams. As a result I pay for a gym membership simply to use the pool. Unfortunate.

The southeast area of Fort Collins is in dire need of a beautiful swimming facility similar to what is present at the Chilson Center in Loveland. Why can't Fort Collins citizens have amenities as nice as those that Loveland citizens enjoy?
