There's a distillery near Tynecastle Park in the Gorgie area of Edinburgh, home to the world famous Heart of Midlothian Football Club. For many years one of the characteristics of that part of Edinburgh, has been the 'malty odour' which lingers in the air. There are occasions when the odour is stronger than others, and while it may not be to everyones liking, it's always been there and has become part of the match day experience. Many people simply associate it with 'going to the match'. Well it now transpires that owners, North British Distilleries are planning to erect a new emissions tower at their facilty to eradicate the fore-mentioned smell completely. Along with many others, I feel that this is unacceptable and do therefor propose that we petition against said plans as they are an intrusion on our basic human rights. Can I hereby call on all 'malty odour' loving fans of any persuasion, to lend their support by signing this petition. Thank you, P98.
