Pond Meadow Petition

This project would be a detriment to the overall neighborhood. This site lies within a residential district and would produce significant negative consequences for the surrounding area including dangerous traffic flow from the Route 8 Connector and Bridgeport Avenue and conservation concerns. This development would also violate an important dividing line between residential and quasi commercial uses.

There is no reason to make a crowded intersection more crowded and place 20 families in tight conditions which will prove to endanger the health and welfare of the people living there.

Zoning laws were created for a reason. The park is a wonderful open space that helps enhance the towns appeal. Please do not overturn the zoning and lead to more overcrowding

Protect open space for future generations

I am a Shelton resident who is opposed planned development at 39 Shelton Road. Please do not change the current zone for R-1. Thank you.

Let's not start to overcrowd & ruin nice areas for financial gain. Zoning was created for a reason.

This is to beautiful an area to be disturbed by the building of new homes. All the construction would endanger the wetlands, Bushinsky Arboretum, and other areas in this quiet area of Shelton.

Do not compromise the integrity of residential zoning!!!

there is a zoning law in this town of 1 acre per dwelling. What good is it if it can be changed on a whim.

Just simply doesn't make sense to make a zoning change. The land was zoned as R1 for a reason. Please don't put further burdens on our streets, our schools, and our city.

I concur with the stated points. The traffic at the intersection of Huntington Road/Shelton Road and Bridgeport Ave is congested enough without adding multiple residential units. The location near the Route 8S on ramp compounds the matter and presents a safety issue. I am also concerned with the negative impact the new development would have on the wetlands which has repercussions beyond our community.

This is much too high a density for that property and I oppose it for all of the reasons listed. I live in Trumbull, just around the corner. To me, that location is the gateway to Shelton for many people. The high level of dense development along Bridgeport Avenue with no accommodation for pedestrians (sidewalks) or consideration for the traffic or impact on the greenway/water company land is disconcerting.

I'm a Shelton resident who is strongly oppose to the rezoning of 39 Shelton Road to allow the Pond Meadow project to proceed.
