To MGM/20th Century FOX:
While we understand your desire to appeal to the younger audiences who may not have seen the original "Poltergeist" film(s), please don't alienate the many fans who grew up with the 1982 classic. A few re-shoots and some dialogue changes here and there should be all it takes to establish that your 2015 film takes place AFTER and in the same film universe that the original trilogy did.
A simple added line of dialogue such as "this case is similar to the Cuesta Verde incident" could be enough to satisfy fans of the original film, as well as leave open the possibility of the return of characters from the original trilogy in later sequels (JoBeth Williams and Craig T. Nelson, perhaps??).
Thank you!
PLEASE listen to the fans. dont ruin a classic by overwriting it with a cheap clone. we want to see the original characters back!!
