All signs, flags and banners should be removed by the 3 days after election. There is too much bullying and divisiveness going on. It appears that some living here think they do not have to follow the rules and I assume they will be fined.

Clean it up. Take them down. They create divisiveness and it is wrong doing. Let's let Apple Valley be above all that. We are Americans first.

Great Idea they are the same as political signs

I believe that the “Sign Restrictions, Definition, and Enforcement Policy” should be revised to include flags which fall under the definition of “Political Signs” on the same document. The definition of a political sign in this policy specifies it as a sign “... used for the supporting or opposing (of) any candidate who is seeking elected office, or expressing support or opposition to a political party or political issue on the ballot.” The sign restriction policy says that it is intended “for the protection of property values with the goal of maintaining an “eye pleasing” appearance.” By continuing to allow these political flags, the AVPOA is going against one of its own goals. These flags do not provide an eye pleasing appearance, and they absolutely have the ability to keep people from purchasing homes in our community. We have bylaws about how long a car can be parked on a lawn, what colors a house can be, and the length of the grass on your property, all for this same reason. To say that these flags being up year round doesn’t contribute to the community having an unpleasing appearance would be asinine.

I would like to see the confederate flag restricted as well

If it's political, it should only be up before an election, just like a sign.

This might be difficult and it needs to be very specific regarding no political signs or banners - No boat parades also

The signs/flags/banners cheapen the looks of this beautiful subdivision

I believe there's absolutely no difference between a flag/banner promoting a political candidate and a yard sign. Totally agree that American flags, flags/banners of military support., support for social movements are fine. But any flag/banner that promotes a specific political individual should be held to the same standards as political yard signs. I fully support the POA changing the rules to include banners/flags with the same regulations as other political signage.

“Political signage” needs to be re-defined to also include flags and banners. If it has a politician’s name on it, by definition it’s “political” and should be subject to the same time restrictions as all other political materials on Apple valley property.

We need to unite our community instead of perpetuating the division

As long as we allow the flags we are bringing into question why we enforce any curb appeal rules, from permits to replace doors to any practice deemed out of line with common practices visible from roads, especially AV Drive.

Let's be specific as to what constitutes a political flag. I agree with Kim Scheer that it should be flags that relate to a political campaign and/or a political candidate.

I totally support outlaw of any of these flags being displayed on a continuing basis.

All these flags do is divide us, and I do believe that we need to join together under one flag. The flag of our country.
