I said it! We may all feel that our academic success is our identity right now. There is so much more about you that I recognize and value- and that may need to be supported for you to be successful in law school.
I understand. You have to get that summer experience, and that GPA range, and make it to office hours, and finish that chapter.
I want to bring your wellness to the forefront.
Are you really okay?
Are your kids, parents, or significant experiencing difficulty that is pulling your attention from your studies?
Do you have financial concerns that are suffocating you?
Are you getting out of the house?
Have you made any friends in law school?
Are you trying to juggle work with your law school experience?
Have you had to work through a large life event since taking the jump to come to law school?
Are you struggling with a physical or mental disability that has made a traditional approach to learning the law substantially more challenging?
These are questions that I haven’t been asked, and these are things that matter. I want to open the stage for all of us to answer these questions and connect through our shared humanity.
We all deserve to have a law school experience that we enjoy and value. It would be my honor to serve as your president and facilitate a meaningful and memorable law school experience for all of us.

I have been reading through the messages you all are sending and honestly it hits me how many of us feel like we are struggling in total isolation while walking these hallways. People are reaching out to tell me about their actual lives outside of these classrooms and it makes me realize that we really need to drop the facade of having it all together because I know for a fact we are all just barely keeping our heads above water.

I did not expect the inbox to explode like this but it is honestly wild to see that so many of you actually feel seen by these questions. It feels like we are finally pulling our heads out of the textbooks to acknowledge that we are real humans living lives outside the library walls which honestly makes me want to cry a little bit.

Savanna is one of the kindest, most understanding people that I know. She leads without even trying. She has remarkable people skills and works harder than anyone I've ever met. Given the tools to improve student life for all law students, Savanna would surpass expectations.

Finally someone gets it. Law school is honestly brutal and having someone who actually cares about us as people instead of just grades would change everything. You got my vote!
