I think it's incredibly important to allow student to confide in whoever they choose. By limiting who they converse with, a lot of student will choose not to speak up at all. This policy is dangerous and irresponsible, as it is setting students up go through dark times alone.

I built so many close relationships with my teachers during my time at Hershey. I graduated in 2014 and I experienced some very traumatic events throughout the course of high school. Without the help of my family and teachers, I am not sure I would have been able to overcome those events and be as successful as I was. By removing the ability for students to talk with their teachers it causes much more harm than good.

I know the board is trying to look after the welfare of the students, but personal stories can make connections with students or help them remember part of the curriculum if a funny, personal story is attached.

Sometimes you just need someone to talk to the you know and is a role model. Except for the one interview with the guidance counselor per year I did not know mine. The tearchers are there you know them and you don't need an appointment to talk to them. Mine you guidance counselor have there purpose but not for every situation.

I believe that I see my teachers more than my own parents! These people are who we get close to and remember as a huge part of my life. The strong connections I have with them can be what makes teachers at our districts so good.

I, as well as future students I will assume, prefer to be in a learning environment where I can connect with a teacher or official on a personal level. I feel that it helps students reach out if they need help and become comfortable if they're shy or maybe a tad introverted.

Teacher student relationships enable students to feel comfortable and safe while learning. Without this interaction you're damaging our education.

This rule should not be in effect just because the Pennsylvania School Board "recommended" that this be in effect. This doesn't apply to Hershey High School and I want to keep the close relationship I have with my teachers.
