“Interpreters are essential to what we do – without them, we would not be able to effectively serve our diverse customers,” LnI words. These mean nothing when they can't be followed. They are simply empty words.
Union or no union, no matter what system is in place, the distribution of appointments is and has always been a joke, unfair, and it will never end. To work, LnI makes interpreters jump through hoops and hurdles, but nobody can hold them accountable by imposing legislative changes on them as their shield. So it has been withholding payment from interpreters for years and allowing the “new system” to make rules as they go, their own rules, no matter if this means abusing professional self-employed workers.

I haven’t seen any surgeries, FCE or PCE, nor work conditioning or work hardening. Since the state switched systems I haven’t seen to take any lengthy appointments. I have snapshots proving that the only appointments I see are 15, 20, 30 or 45 minutes. That I take many times, however, many of those appointments end up being rescheduled or canceled

I don’t like this kind of behavior. It happens this kind of monopolizing at Swedish labor and delivery department

We are signing this petition to please make amends to the new rules that will be introduced on November 1st. Some of these rules are simply not applicable for the success of all parties involved; providers, interpreters and patients. We ask you to please review these rules and make the necessary changes so that we can continue to provide a good quality service to patients and medical professionals. Thank you.

This is enough disrespect to our profession, we’re the most mistreated contractor of the country with no benefits but all the demands on our part please at least give us the same opportunity of job assignments.

Sadly the distribution of appts is FAR from fair. Only selected few getting bulk of appts that are more than one hour in length.

I haven’t worked. L&I appts for a couple years but have been thinking of returning, however this is very discouraging news and hope these issues are addressed and corrected.

It is absolutely ridiculous that these interpreters are getting treated this way. This is theft and boarder line breaking the law.
