To the Independent Police Complaints Commission

We demand that there is an immediate, thorough and transparent
investigation into the allegations of police brutality at the student
protest in London on Wednesday 24th November & on Thursday 9th December.

*Please note that this petition has been amended to include the reported brutality at yesterday's protest In London.  If anybody has an issue with that, you can put an amendment by your signature to say that you only want an investigation into the events of the 24th November.  However, I hope that you will agree that they are both part of the same issue & that by including both protests, we hope that the Police Complaints Commission will be  able to draw more accurate conclusions about the way crowds were handled at these events.

We have eyewitness

accounts of:

1. Mounted police charging crowds, which included children, without
due regard for the crowd's safety.

2.Police officers 'kettling' protesters. Hundreds of peaceful
protesters, again including children, were trapped behind police lines
for hours, on a cold night, with no access to toilets or drinks.

3.Police Officers being heavy handed with peaceful protesters; pushing
and putting their hands on adults and children.

4.Police officers effectively barring protesters from speaking out
publicly at a planned rally, by blocking access.

5.A Protester being pulled from his wheelchair by the police.

6. Protesters being 'kettled' or 'contained' for hours with no access to toilets, food or drink in freezing weather. Many people were stranded in London on the night of 9th December as they missed their arranged transport due to the police keeping them contained.

We also demand an explanation of why an unmanned police vehicle was
parked, for no apparent reason,  in a place where the police knew
there would be crowds convening.
