The American taxpayers should not be held financially responsible every time a law enforcement officer acts unethically in the line of duty. With murders, unjustifiable deaths, false reports and abuse of power now commonplace, all law enforcement officers should be required to carry malpractice insurance. If they lose their coverage or are unable to be covered, they must be relieved from their duties as a law enforcement officer.
