We the people of Columbus would like to demand the use of PAID (at expense of venue owner) off duty officers to assist in securing the parking areas of local night clubs and bars. These officers are trained and have the appropriate skills and AUTHORITY to help provide a safe environment for those citizens of Muscogee county who chose to enjoy themselves responsibly at various night time venues. The presence of a Law Enforcement Officer will detour most illegal and dumb behavior and prevent many violent crimes that happen in parking areas of bars and clubs. WE WANT THE POLICE TO HELP US PROVIDE A SAFE PLACE FOR PEOPLE TO UNWIND AND HAVE A GOOD TIME. Eliminating clubs and bars in this county is not the answer, as a community (Police and Citizens) we need to come together on this issue to make our streets, bars and clubs safer for us and the next generation to come.
