Polaris Industries is the U.S. based manufacturer of some of the most popular offroad vehicles in the world, particularly with its RZR line. It is also the owner of Victory Motorcycles and Indian Motorcycles. Both of these motorcycle subsidiaries produce street motorcycles, mostly cruisers and touring motorcycles. All vehicles manufactured by Polaris and its subsidiaries are produced within the U.S.A.

This petition exists to remind Polaris Industries that there is a significant and growing market for the combination of offroading and motorcycles--the dual sport and adventure categories of motorcycles--and asks Polaris Industries to seriously consider introducing a well-researched, low-priced, quality on-and-off-road motorcycle using its Victory or a third subsidiary organization.

Perhaps both types of motorcycles could be pursued. Arguably, the ideal dual sport motorcycle would be approximately 25-30 cubic inches in engine size and would specialize in single track trails (target 30/70 road/dirt ratio), while the ideal larger adventure motorcycle would be double this size and would specialize in unpaved forest roads (target 70/30 road/dirt ratio). Both types of motorcycles should have long throw suspension and generally handle any terrain with most levels of technical detail, including sand and large rocks, although the smaller dual sport would be better suited for the more technical variety.

Like the versatile Kawasaki KLR650, compared to a too-small Honda CRF250L, a dual sport bike would not need to look like a dirt bike. The desire for an American made dual sport bike could give the dual sport / adventure motorcycle market a shakeup in a custom, American-minded design that breaks the status quo in aesthetic, features, and quality.

And of all the innovators in the powersports manufacturing market, Polaris Industries has proven itself fully capable of being able to design some amazing, spectacular designs in every category of refinement and excellence. We have great anticipation that anything produced by Polaris would be nothing short of spectacular.
