People of PJ, we need your help please.

There are two adjacent bungalows on Jalan Gasing that are currently undergoing extensive renovations. The house numbershave been removed from the premises, but they are likely, from what we can estimate and from a development sign in front of one of the houses, No. 131 and 132 Jalan Gasing.

While little change can be seen from Jalan Gasing itself, the scene at the back of both the premises tells a different story.

The two houses back onto three properties - two on Jalan 6/30C and one on Jalan 6/30B. All three properties are being severely damaged by the ongoing construction.

The owners of the two bungalows have built a retaining wall which is in danger of collapsing at any moment (pls refer to the pix). The wall holding the mix of mud and water is bulging out, and at any moment could explode, collapsing directly onto the house it faces.

There is no proper drainage, so much so that water is seeping underground into the homes of the adjacent properties and pushing through their tiles and cement work.

Every time it rains (which is pretty much every day at this time of the year), mud flows freely into the adjacent properties and into our drains. Our drains are clogged full of mud, which cannot flow away because construction debris is also blocking the flow.

The clogged drains (see pix) have caused a severe increase in the mosquito population, and we have seen a marked increase in dengue cases in our neighbourhood. Our children, who are used to playing on the end of our cul de sac every evening, now have to be kept indoors to keep them safe.

The project workers, who live on the premises, have taken to walking through one of the properties freely as if they own it, coming and going as they please. The owner, an aged couple, one of whom is bedridden, are helpless to this intrusion on their privacy and safety.

And now word on the street is that these owners are planning to install a gate at the back of the two buildings to give them access through our street, which will make our current cul de sac a through road or at the very least, a high traffic pedestrian access.

Repeated appeals to MBPJ have fallen on deaf ears; the owners of the property seem immune from any preventive action.

FRIENDS: We need your help to put a stop to this please.

Please please share this news as widely as you can, and help us stop a disaster from happening.

We need to put pressure MBPJ and the local authority to put a stop work order on this project immediately, while soil and engineering tests are done. And we must stop the through road from happening.

This neighbourhood is over 50 years old, and many of the residents are original owners. They are helpless at the face of this onslaught of money and might. And they need our help.
