Get rid of it! The federal government has no place asking children intimate questions and data mining for future use against US citizens. CC will funnel our children towards mediocracy, further diminishing our future ability to compete on a global scale.

I support local control of children's education in the following order.
Parents or guardians of the child.
Local Tax payers.
Local Teachers.
Locally elected School Boards.
Local Administration.
Locally elected state representatives.
Common Core and the associated standardized testing strips away local control, gives control in this order, dictated by law, Feds->State-Local Superintendents. The big losers: Parents or guardians, teachers and school boards.
We MUST cut the head off this snake before it engulfs our children.

My children were so frustrated from Common Core each week I had one or both of them in tears on the way home from school. I pulled them out of a charter school in February last year and am home schooling them. I refuse to subject them to the inferior curriculum and subject our family to the data mining. I resent the federal governments intrusion via my children. Th quality of our children's education should not be driven by the profit margin of Gates, Pearson and the like.

I live in Wakefield. One of the few districts who have dumped Common Core because we care that the teachers actually teach our kids and not become data facilitators.

Common Core standards and the new grading systems are really messing up our kids! Thank God my youngest is graduating this year. I feel badly for other parents of younger kids. Parents really need to keep on top of their childrens' schooling. Especially with the new math programs! Homeschool if you can!!!
