Common Core is wrong on so many levels. It is often both cognitively and developmentally inappropriate. It puts a wedge between children and parents as we cannot help them with homework. It is bordering on child abuse. It Is causing my own child sleep troubles, stress and headaches. .

Common Core is designed to dumb down the population so the Ruling Class can put the Genie back in the bottle that was let loose in 1787 with the signing of the US Constitution. Period.

I am a public school kindergarten teacher in NH, witnessing the loss of developmentally appropriate practices in kindergarten in exchange for standards that were not based in early childhood research and scientifically researched literacy development, and which are detrimental to the natural and creative abilities of a child. We need to respect and foster the whole child, not set children up for failure. Our teaching practices should be based on the developmental stages of our young learners, not a one-size-fits-all approach that causes anxiety and stress in young children. I will be opting my own children out of the Smarter Balanced Assessment, and I will be fighting against the alignment of kindergarten assessments to the common core state standards, as they simply are not developmentally appropriate according to Piaget's developmental stages, and other experts on childhood development.

Get gov out of our classrooms. We don't need liberal indoctrination classes.

Common core is a complete joke. Our kids deserve so much better. All they do is take tests to see what they know but how are they suppose to know how if they've never been taught how. Makes absolutely no sense! n

NH should be in control of what NH students are taught, not some bureaucracy in Washington working for teachers unions

Common Core is not standard. It is a framework to create a new workforce class to service the corporations. It's implementation expands federal and international control over the local aspect of teaching.
