Subtle gestures comedy timing. Didn't get it when young but struck chords from being 14/ 15 yrs old when the shorts were shown on BBC 2 at around 6 pm everyday. ( The Simpsons slot). Bought a DVD when my sons were small and raised them on slapstick. Never looked back.

It is a great pity that most youngsters today do not even know of Laurel & Hardy. They are missing so much fun and laughter. Let's help to put this right.

Grew up watching them on TV - they were comedy geniuses. Still completely relevant today.

With BBC2 forced to rely on repeats of 'Allo 'Allo et al, surely the channel has room - and a need - for Stan and Ollie.

I'm 19 years old and I grew up with Laurel and Hardy, and if every generation doesn't grow up with them that would be a very sad world.
