These sports are some people's passion. Just because a lot of people don't go and watch it like football, it is still a huge part of some kid's lives.

Don't cut these sports

Sports help a student learn time management, leadership, dedication, and hard work. Without the daily practice of these skills, it is hard to say that these skills will be practiced in the same way without participation in a sport. Keeping this program is not only good for the athlete but good for the school's unity.

Please reconsider-A lot of kids will now have to transfer to other schools for their passions after deciding on your school.

RMU needs to look harder into a way to keep these teams intact...it can be done!

Cross county inspires kids to run, something that will keep them healthy long after they graduate. It's really a shame that administrators seem to always want to get rid of it, despite it having so much to offer for those who participate.

Sports should be for the athletes, not to turn a profit

As a high school runner, I feel that XC is eclipsed by bigger, more popular sports. We work just as hard, if not harder, than any other sport.

Cross country is the hardest pure sport that exists. The men and women that compete push through incredible physical and mental discomfort and pain to do so. This not only builds confidence, determination, and resolve to complete one's goals in the face of overwhelming adversary, but it creates an extraordinary bond of friendship and camaraderie. Removing these sports is a giant step in the wrong direction.

Once again the one true sport is being cut due to the money hungry directors. Pathetic

I don't like the fact that the spirt if track and field is on the back burner and people don't understand how great of a sport it is

I find that running in general gives the most back to the community for the small amount that is given to it.

Cross-Country is an incredible sport. It builds self-reliance while supporting a sense of teamwork. It is all-inclusive (or certainly should be), and, in our district, builds a great sense of camaraderie. Face if people, sports like this are the future.

The men's program has not only been a successful team but they are a family. Taking away this team will not only disconnect bonds but it also takes away academic oppritunities some young men might not ever be able to afford without their track scholarships.

There has to be some creative funding somewhere - find it!
