NCAA funding for xc/track at the D1 level pays for itself....not sure why you would discontinue it? With a little fundraising, a D2 school running program can survive.

it's a shame that universities would rather focus on generating money than supporting the true interests of their students.

Track and Field and Cross Country are fairly cheap comparatively than other sports so to say it doesn't work with the budget is a flimsy argument.
Please reconsider your decision to drop the RMU cross country & track & field programs for the men.

Cross Country is one of the greatest sports out there! Anyone can do it as long as they have shoes, and it doesn't require any special skills or any contact unlike almost every other sport out there. Without running, my life would be completely different. Cross country is a very low cost sport compared to others such as football, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, swimming, bowling any many more.

This one's for Nash and his enthusiasm for this sport. It's a shame that this happens.
I honestly didn't know RMU existed until my nephew chose to attend. He is a XC and track athelete. We've been able to see a few of his meets. Those meets advertise what and who RMU is with some of your best and brightest. Your university atheletes are ambassadors for RMU, spreading what is the best about your university across the country. You ought to rethink this.

Over the past four years, my husband and I have followed with pride, our nephew, Nick Gentile's, incredible XC and track endeavors at RMU. We were extremely disappointed to learn of the decision to cut these programs. Although Nick is a senior, we hope those with the decision-making powers reconsider and reinstate these programs. As an educator in a public high school, I recognize the importance of all athletic programs, not only the ones which bring in the most revenue. Athletics enhance students' lives. Please revisit this issue!
