Please don't sit down the club feature. It's a great party of the Duolingo learning adventure!

We DO NOT want to lose our cool clubs and lovely friends in them! Please save our clubs :) Would love to see some development in clubs instead of a new Leaderboard system.

We need the clubs! It's so helpful to be able to ask people in your club if you have questions to something.

I already feel my motivation for Duolingo slipping at the prospect of losing my Diligent Spanish club. We have admin-run weekly challenges, learn about each other's countries, and generally make getting a lot of XP a playful experience. Duo's daily challenges turn into joking comment strings about other people's answers. Without that bond, I'm slipping into using Drops and Lingodeer more often because I'm not encouraged to let DL dominate my learning. You're probably getting waaaaaay fewer ad views. Please reconsider.

As the founder and admin of 'La Malbeloj Beboj' (The Ugly Babies), a very active Esperanto club on Duolingo's club platform, I am heartbroken to hear that the clubs will be taken away. I have met and conversed with many people from all over the world, people that I've come to call my friends. For three years I've helped to cultivate this widely diverse community of 'Ugly Babies' from Ghana, Austria, the U.S., Spain, Germany, and Asia. I've been so bummed out about the coming loss of my club - I haven't practiced Esperanto at all this week. What's the point if I can't talk to people? Please consider that the GOAL of learning a language is to communicate with others. By killing clubs, you're removing the sole motivation to learn a language.
