Clubs are currently the most outstanding feature in Duolingo. Interacting with people (including native speakers) in my Ukrainian club gave my learning a huge boost. Moreover, it’s the main motivation for me to check in every day. Not sure if I will continue to use Duolingo, if clubs get dropped. I already stopped updating the app a few weeks ago.

Clubs are much more interactive and fun than leaderboards.. Please keep the clubs as well. Leaderboards just promote race to get more XP and no discussions.

Clubs have to be there for all to learn a new language in an interactive way. If not many will not use duolingo properly and the main mission of duolingo will be no use.

Get rid of clubs with poor participation, but keep the active ones. Let the administrator create a description so that new members can pick a club that is right for them. My Spanish and French clubs require daily participation, a profile pic, and does not allow English to be used.

I don't even understand why a leaderboard is supposed to be an improvement. Why did duolingo go against clubs in the first place?
