The company has officially acknowledged our concerns and formally committed to restoring the social club features. This outcome is a direct result of the collective persistence demonstrated by everyone who participated in this campaign. We should observe the upcoming interface updates closely to ensure this transition is handled correctly.

Update: Duolingo closed all clubs after May 20th!
But clubs were a key element of the Duolingo application. We used them to help learn foreign languages through the competition between us each week. We got to know each other and so help each other when there are questions, error correction, hints. Even wishes for important days were exchanged for birthdays, exam days, holidays. Through the clubs, the social dimension of foreign language learning emerged. Since they were replaced, we lost a lot of motivation to compete. So Duolingo becames an impersonal exercise machine.
We want our clubs back!

The momentum behind this initiative continues to build as we approach the one hundred signature milestone. Reaching this threshold will provide us with a clearer mandate when we approach the development team regarding the reinstatement of clubs.

I love my club. Will be so sad to lose it. I spend more time writing on the club page than the exercises. I think it will be a huge mistake to lose them and I will be so disappointed to lose the friends I have made, that have been so helpful to me.
Please bring back the Clubs !! We were studying the same language together, would answer questions, help each other. Now people in the Leaders are different each week, and learn different languages .. they could as well be robots !!
I like our club, our little Esperanto family. We need it not for competition, but for communication purposes. We are happy to congratulate our mates with their achievements, to meet new friends, to discuss something in our circle. Don't take it away, please.
Clubs members help me motivate not to break my streak. They are also very supportive and gives tips for easier remembrance of the lessons. It would be sad to lose that kind of support. To feel like your not the only one on this journey.
Good clubs are an invaluable part of Duolingo and offer the best and most dynamic language practice at little development cost. Rather than deprecating the feature, it would be better to figure out how to bring up the performance and involvement in low-activity clubs.
I agree. I would like the options to join a club and leave the leagues behind. I turned off my profile because the leagues were a distraction. I want to learn German and talk from time to time with others who are learning German. I love many of the other recent improvements to Duolingo like the stories.
I want the added interest of clubs in my chosen language, not the impersonal league of whatever language

We use the club format so my kids and their grandparents can learn spanish together and chat about it in a private group. Sure, there are other forums to do that, but we'd be less likely to use duolingo at all without our family club.
