To all voters for the Basketball Hall of Fame: Lefty Driesell was a brilliant coach who had immense success at Maryland. He was innovative, passionate and made the game far more fun than it was without him.
He should have been voted into the Basketball Hall of Fame years ago. We the undersigned urge you to please help correct this and put the Lefthander into the Hall of Fame.

I was Lefty's head basketball manager his first 2 years at James Madison! "Coach" had a big impact on me and others and I'm hopeful he ends up in the HOF!
I grew up on the outskirts of College Park rooting for the fantastic Terps teams of the era (McMillan, Elmore, Lucas). Had there been a 64-team tourney at the time, there is no doubt in my mind that Lefty would have been to plenty of Final Fours and likely brought home a championship or two. It is obvious he belongs - put him in!
786 wins. Created Midnight Madness. His resume won’t fit in this text box, so I’ll just leave it at that - which is more than enough in itself. We deserve to know why he’s not in already.
As a Durham High School ‘66 and UNC ‘70 grad I truly appreciate how deserving Lefty Driesell is of this honor. He had amazing success at Davidson and more of the same at Maryland. That his team suffered some unlucky losses in the NCAA tournament and never reached a Final 4 should not detract from his accomplishments
Lefty Driesell did a lot to promote and develop the college basketball game. Today, we still benefit from midnight madness and other marketing techniques that Lefty pioneered. His W - L record is also worthy of the Hall of Fame. Put him in!
Fierce competition! Great coach! ACC truly misses his competition!
Lefty not being in the basketball Hall of Fame would be a disgrace.

As often said when describing Hall of Fame candidates in all sports; can you tell the story of college basketball without Lefty? An emphatic NO. Lefty deserves to be in the Hall.
