Save most of or just scratch your plans entirely and RESTORE Pier 54. The Maritime History at this spot in Lower Manhattan should outweigh any politician or philanthropist who deem it worthy to be destroyed and rebuilt. SAVE PIER 54 !

As much of the historic Pier 54 should be saved as possible. I would hope those responsible for planning "Pier 55" take the historical and archaeological integrity of the site into account throughout the process.

Those remains of Pier 54 are part of the great and rich maritime history of NYC. Please be proud of it, and preserve the very last remains of this once giant and unique pier complex.

This site has seen great moments and tragedies in our history, it needs to be saved so not only students learning in schools but also the maritime historians and ocean liner buffs can visit the great city see the pier and reflect as well as providing contributions to the local economy during the trips!!!

The granite façade and Pier 54 MUST be preserved. It is symbolic as a safe passage for many people, over many years. Lives changed walking through this "Archway" and to many it represents a clear visual means for honoring past generations. Just as we preserve "Ellis Island" because so many traveled from far away to get to the United States, we must also offer the same respect and tribute to Pier 54 and its beautiful Archway.
