I don't know the rationales behind the decision, but the fact is the Morrisville population and middle-schoolers are increasing quickly. What worries me is that this kind of redistributing would have to be redone before too long, let alone all the inconveniences this decision would cause the current Mill Park students.

Keeps mills park. Mills park has better opportunities for kids with ADHD and better opportunities for band and sports.we are setting up our kids to fail by going to west cary

Please grandfather our children into the old assignment schedule, as most previous changes have done. Or change the assignments to area/neighborhood based schools.

I agree with the other comments about WCPSS should stop this continuous re-districting and adequately plan for future growth. WCPSS needs to seriously consider proximity to Mills Park for Breckenridge kids instead of forcing transportation to twice the distance.

The evidence is clear on the positive effects of local schools on performance. WCPSS needs to stop the ridiculous annual redistristricting ritual and get serious about planning. There is a solution right In front of us: year-round calendars. Fully implemented (involuntary and NOT experimental cirriculum - STEM) it is undeniable that 30% more students can attend per school facility (the most constrained resource). Instead the board continues to cave to preference and emotional pleas. It is past time to understand the true costs of our decisions and fully consider all alternatives. My guess is that the residents of Wake, when faced with the true balance between cost and service level, will choose responsibly and simplify the school assignment issue.

Definitely need a school which is closer to our community, which is Mills Park Middle School. Unless WCPSS ready to build a new school close to Breckenridge.

Absolutely need schools that are close by. Why does school assignments always have to negatively impact Breckenridge residents? I also hear that kids from Brier Creek area are and will be attending Mills Park even though they are quite far... that doesn't make any sense.

In fact, because our Breckenridge subdivision is large in population, we deserve a new middle school that is next to us to serve 1000+ children here . There are lands on Little Dr., let's have an elementary and a middle school here instead of at the dead end corner of Cary and Durham near Alston Ridge.

Sorry to say, but Wake County has bad idea and heartless decision on this issue! By reassigning 1000+ families ' children of Breckenridge to a further double in distance middle school which is West Cary, they had : 1. Heartlessly busing our kids to a further school with all the worthless/unnecessary commute time. 2. Might destroy/reduce our home values to the bottom points. We used to live in another subdivion in Morrisville prior moving to Breckenridge. When we bought the home in our previous subdivision, the school assign was Cedar Fork ES which is only 1.5 mile away. A year later, Wake County reassigned it to Weatherstone ES which is 8 miles away not including heavy traffic. My house was listed and noone wanted to buy it with the same reason "both elmentary and middle school are too far". Most of the home in our previous subdivision that listed went foreclosed or sold at a losing price because they could not sell it. Until now, we listed our home for rent to out-of -state people that comes to RTP to work and we moved to Breckenridge to be closer to school. Please reconsider your reassignment plan. It obviously doesnt contribute any positive for our children nor our life financially while we are working hard to support our kids. Please stop pushing us to a dead end. WAKE COUNTY, PLEASE TREAT OUR HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN LIKE YOURS OWN BY STOP BUSING OUR KIDS TO OUT OF TOWN SCHOOL AND KEEP OUR HOME VALUES STEADY LIKE YOU WOULD LIKE IT FOR YOUR OWN. Oh, I notice most schools in Cary/Morrisville area are limited to Spanish as the only second language children could take. Can you add in languages such as Indian, Chinese, or French to the second language list ? So people have choice of choosing what second language they would like their kids to learn /that fit with their surrounding area .

My one son attended Mills Park Middle and my middle son attends there now as an 8th grader and my 5th grader will (hopefully) attend next year! I do NOT want our base school to be switched to West Cary!! Mills Park Middle is a wonderful school and has always been our base school. When is enough going to be enough the way schools get reassigned these days?

Our daughter is currently attending Mills Park & is thriving. We do not have any interest in West Cary & really hope Mills Park remains the designated school for Breckinridge.
