Please help us to save a piece of Public property (public access site) "Donated to the people of the State of Michigan"

keep it open for everyone to enjoy

This needs to be kept for all future generations to use and enjoy

I would like to see this wonderful piece of nature left they way it is. It was donated to the public as a nature reserve for the people. Please save this property the way it was given.

Mrs Whitlock should be honored

Donated with a purpose is exactly that. For future people enjoying the use of this land to have it taken from them for the use that the person donating the land is acting with poor judgement or taking it in "bad faith".

First off you can go to the Tuesday meeting at Bay Shore. And possibly help with the Paper copy of the Petition and ask for signatures! If willing to do either of those if not, I will also be posting a master list of contact information. Thank you for your interest and support.

Land can still be used by Bayshore, but can't be used as intended by others if Bayshore closes the land off to the public.

Leave this land to the public. Do not sell or give to any other entity or organization..

Who has the right to take donated property and use it for anything other than what it was originally intended for? The residents of Sebewaing should be proud to defend Thelmas wishes and fight to keep this land that was given to them. In this day and age it would be impressive to see business decisions made by using good old fashion morales and values, and not letting financial gains hinder these values. I would like to believe that a womans generous donation would not fall into the hands of greedy land owners or be traded in for someone's business ventures. Let's do the right thing and honor Thelmas desire to keep this land sacred in honor of her husband.

i have hunted there for years and being a senior citizen really appreciate having someplace so close to home to enjoy the outdoors.

What can I do to help?

To treat this gift from Mrs Whitlock as a mere property transaction would be a desecration of this most wonderful example of generosity. If this change of ownership is allowed to proceed, let it stand as a warning to anyone considering a gift to the public.

Will this land be shut off from the public just as the rest of Bayshore property is?

I personally believe Thelma Whitlock's wishes should be honored, this piece of land was willed to the people of Michigan in memory of her husband Dr. Stanley Whitlock, it should remain in the peoples possession. This is a pristine piece of wilderness right within the Sebewaing Village limits at the end of Pine Street.

i completely agree and support this issue
