Stop the government from letting this continue to go on!! They are all committing murder yet the law allows it. The court system is corrupt flawed and unjust .. it's absolutely ridiculous and sickning to watch the government all all its officials do what they do to the people they control.. it's time to stop them.

To execute a man before carrying out DNA testing which could possibly prove his innocence is barbaric and only demonstrates, yet again, that the death penalty in the USA is for revenge, not justice purposes.

As Lester Bower's attorneys state: "Executing Mr Bower, after he has served on death-row for more than 30 years, under these circumstances, serves no penological purpose, and constitutes cruel and unusual punishment".

I agree completely that the DEATH PENALTY is murder, and murder by the State. This is an appalling misuse of power and does nothing to make citizens safer and society run better. It serves only the purpose of revenge, and we know that the families of many victims do not want this type of revenge. It simply does not help them to heal.
In this case, when DNA testing has still to be completed, executing Lester seems particularly wicked.

The Death penalty has never been about justice. It is also not about what represents a world leading nation.

The death penalty serves as no deterant. rather it is an abuse of power and no more than state sanctioned premeditated murder

Save Lester. As per usual the US thinks it rules the world. Perhaps it's time to step up to the plate, drop your ecocentric gaurd and act like honest and just people and let them prove this guys innocence. Until you do this, the US judicial system is on par with Saudi, Iran etc. i.e. it stinks, and the worst thing is, you know it.

I am a U.S. citizen living in the U.S. I am appalled by the continued use of the death penalty and executions. Aside from the obvious immorality of killing to prevent killing, too many people on death row have been exonerated, including in North Carolina (two just recently). THIS MUST STOP! This execution should not be carried out. The fact that there may be proof of his innocence through DNA evidence should be more than enough to stop this execution.

Don't kill this man. Please stop the senseless killing. Courtrooms are not fair. All evidence is never shown due to the power of the judge and the sorry attorneys that are appointed.

From this report this man has been treated with horrific cruelty, and maintains his innocence. He should at least have the opportunity for further DNA testing.

Is it not high time this barbaric practice of lengthy incarceration followed by excruciating execution was stopped??

This man has been on death row for over 30 years. What kind of justice could possibly be served by executing him now? Stop this terrible injustice NOW, before it is too late.
