So sad that the attorneys and zoning commission could not come up with a better solution than destroying a viable business in the county! Shame on them! .. we had no problem figuring out a way to spend 1 million on each football stadium in the county!

Small businesses are hard to start. They take a lot of courage, time, and hard work. To pull the rug out of a company after 7 years is truly unacceptable from our local government. Zoning was put in place to help people not to be used by one person to hurt another. This business, Dixie Joe's, provides a quality product to its consumers, the location is perfect, and everyone loves the service. (Except the complaining neighbor). Is it not true that a businesses success is better than one that drains the system? The community wants to keep Dixie Joe's open. The Zoning board should allow this business to remain open. I was under the impression that VA is right to work state? This is their work and they have a right to continue. Heather Kreamer White

Small businesses such as yours is exactly what we need to fight for and support. You were given the county approval 7 years ago to operate as a small business and that should remain in place to you as the owners of the property and business. How, why and when did it get rezoned? The county just can’t change it based on one individual’s request. Unfortunately your neighbor has a problem and it’s more than just with you. It’s with your supported patrons who enjoy your business. Let us know when the hearing is. Hang in there.
