All these comments just show what amazing work all the staff in the breastfeeding team do and how many families have been supported by them. We need doctors- We NEED the Breastfeeding team- different job just as much importance. Well done and thank you for all the amazing work you all do to help so many in need now let's keep this going!

We are letting mothers and babies down by cutting these valuable supportive posts.

We should be doing everything we can to improve poor breastfeeding rates in this country, & this lady's work is invaluable. She should be supported at all costs

Donna is the main reason I continued breastfeeding, her support was so essential. Please protect her role, she is amazing and her role is vital.

We need more breastfeeding support for mums across the UK, not less. How else will we increase the pitifully poor breastfeeding rates in this country. This will affect the long term health of a generation, and is essential.

The health of the nation is dependent on a baby having a good beginning. Breast feeding is essential both for the baby and the mother. If the true cost of not breast feeding could be added up it would add far more to the overall NHS costs than the cost of peer support programmes etc. To cut such roles is short term madness that will add to the overall burden of healthcare cost in the long term.

Support is cruicial to ensure women reach their breastfeeding goals and by doing so, save the nhs billions in admissions for respiratory illness, gastric illness, ear infection and all non communicable diseases later on in the childs life. Not to mention the protective health benefits to the mother...support is key to breastfeeding

The importance of keeping breastfeeding support workers' jobs in place cannot be underestimated. It will be life-changing for many women and babies.

Enough! Families need strong & healthy human beings, that will in the long run, save money on the NHS.

One to one bf support is critical to bf success. The uk's bf rate is utterly shameful & will only get worse as more support services are cut.

So very important to keep breast feeding support going. It really is the very best for baby, new mums need encouragement and support to be able to carry on feeding past the first few days and weeks.
