I support the right of Esko residents to be able to raise chickens in their back yards.

Keeping chickens is a great hobby and encourages fresh food that is close to the source in our area.

I urge the board to reconsider the backyard chicken ban. My friends are directly affected by this measure and I wish that their wishes be heard. I have had a chance to eat from their delicious eggs and support chickens to be allowed to be raised in Thompson County.

All there as a proud tender of a flock. If Duluth and the Cities allow chickens I certainly think Esko should.

If chickens are not allowed would the horses and buffalo farm have to go also?

I don't believe these chickens are doing any harm, In fact they are also a teaching tool of how to take care of you animals, getting eggs so to help support your family's nutricitional needs.

I know they love their chickens and aren't trying to harm or bother anyone else by keeping them in their property.

Rewrite old ordinances. These chickens are family. I am sure there are residences who are violating bigger ordinances then having chickens.

Check out Duluthcitychickens.or for FAQ that may speak to some of the concerns some people may have with chickens in the city. Generally they are quiet productive pets that can add a lot of fun to your neighborhoods.
